Kington St. Michael C.E. Primary School, is committed to providing an inclusive environment where discrimination of any kind, whether based on gender, colour, culture, origin, ability or disability, is not tolerated. We believe that all pupils deserve equal opportunities to learn, grow and develop into valued members of society. Our staff follow a clear equal opportunities philosophy, promoting diversity, respect and appreciation for every individual. We aim to foster a positive, caring community that celebrates shared values within our multicultural setting and encourages strong partnerships between school and families. Admissions, staffing and daily school life are led by fairness, cultural awareness and a commitment to providing appropriate support, including accessibility provisions and specialist guidance where required.
All pupils have full access to a balanced, sensitive and inclusive curriculum. Staff understand the impact their expectations have on learner progress, and therefore strive to provide teaching and resources that positively reflect diverse backgrounds, cultures, languages and abilities. The school encourages meaningful experiences such as visits, speakers and learning activities that broaden understanding across cultures, faiths and different life experiences. Linguistic diversity is valued, and pupils are supported in recognising the importance of their own language or dialect. This commitment is embedded in staff induction and ongoing development, ensuring consistent practice throughout the school. The policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure that the principles of equality, community cohesion and inclusion remain actively upheld.
