Statement of Intent
We are delighted to hold the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) at KSM for demonstrating a clear vision for science across the school. Our intent to spark children’s natural curiosity and sense of wonder about the world by starting with questions! We aim to build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that enable children to explore, investigate and explain scientific ideas. Through hands-on experiences, children are encouraged to develop their skills of questioning and critical thinking. We want pupils to see themselves as scientists who are capable of making discoveries and solving problems. Our teaching promotes resilience and creativity, giving children the confidence to test their ideas and learn from mistakes. We strive to nurture a lifelong love of science by making learning relevant, engaging, and enjoyable. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that all children leave primary school with curiosity intact and a belief that science matters in their lives and in the wider world.
